Kathy Lemerle | Kathy comes originally from a little town called Angola in New York State. Since moving to Brussels in 1987, she has gathered loads of experience in school productions and in Brussels amateur theatre groups both on stage and off. From designing and making costumes for various shows to directing Joseph, Kismet and Rock Whittington for BLOC, from choreographing belly dancers to playing the Queen in the Jarrett School's ballet production of The Sleeping Beauty, Kathy has been around the stage more than once. Kathy's inspired direction of the 2006 production of Oliver! is a clear illustration of her sense of what it takes to turn a show into a real “spectacle”. | Director & Choreographer | Jenny Clarkson | Jenny has lived in Belgium since she was 7 and now lives in Brussels with her partner Karoly and their son, Kai. She's been in many productions with various theatre groups since she was little - more often than not in dancing roles. Her most recent shows are BLOC's production of Joseph in 2004, which she helped to choreograph and where she played a wife and a cheerleader, and Yantra's dance show in 2002 where she performed as a belly dancer. |
| Music Director | David Miller | Born and educated in the United States, David lives in Brussels with his wife, the American musician and teacher Martha Rowe, and their six children. He considers himself an American citizen and a permanent resident of Europe. David's career as an opera conductor has allowed him to travel widely, working with, amongst others Maurice Béjart, Sir Colin Davis, and most importantly Maestro Giuseppe Sinopoli, for whom he prepared orchestra and singers for opera productions in Dresden, at La Scala and at the Bayreuth Festival. He has also accompanied great singers such as José van Dam, Jane Manning, Jeannette Thompson and Julia Migenes in recital cycles. He is now pianist at La Monnaie, Brussels' Royal Opera House, and vocal coach of the new Opera Studio section of the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth. David has shared his experience with BLOC on several productions already: Kismet, Bloc on Broadway, HMS Pinafore, and their 2004 production of Joseph … |
| Producer | Eileen Heenan | Eileen first got involved in backstage work 6 years ago, acting as the children's co-ordinator for BLOC's 2001 production of Kismet, and performing similar roles for Kathy Lemerle's 2004 production of “Joseph”, and other smaller BLOC productions. For the year 2005-2006 she led the Heenan family's total commitment to Oliver! as Producer of the show. After a year's break, she is now ready to apply her experience and organising abilities to the production of Joseph - this time, wisely choosing to share the work with Pauline van Greuningen |
| Producer | Pauline van Greuningen | Pauline was first thrown into amateur theatre when her dutch-speaking daughter was given lines in English in the ECC's “Dracula Spectacula” in 2000. Enjoying the taste of theatre blood, she produced ECC's “Dealer's Choice” in 2001. Assisting with make-up for ECC's “The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe” in 2004 left Pauline's thirst unquenched and led her to study advanced make-up at night school. Since then, she has practiced on various BLOC casts, and ECC/ATC's Oliver! in 2006. She considers her new Producer role for Green Parrot's Joseph an honour, a lot of fun and something she really wants to sink her teeth into! |
